The following list gives you a month-by-month view of upcoming events, deadlines and next steps to remember.

Please note:

Required tasks (marked with an R) need to be completed in the incoming student portal. This page will be updated over the coming months with additional deadlines and tasks. If you are an international student please make sure to refer to our international student support content. If you are considering deferring your admission, please refer to RISD's deferral policy.

December 2022

  • December 14: Early Decision students notified

January 2023

  • January 12: Early Decision students submit $500 enrollment deposit (non-refundable) R

March 2023

  • March 17: Regular Decision students notified
  • Mid-March: Register for online info sessions
  • March 31: Brown | RISD Dual Degree acceptance notification

April 2023

  • Early April: Incoming student forms available to fill out via your incoming student portal (health forms, RISD alerts, student policies) R

May 2023

June 2023

  • Early June: International students complete all international forms R
  • June 1: applications due for RISD First-Generation to College Pre-Orientation Program: RISD FGC POP
  • Mid-June: Watch your RISD email for regular outreach from Student Financial Services and respond to any requests for missing financial aid information
  • June 14: Wednesday Webinar 7–8:30 pm ET
    Get Involved with Residence Life, Center for Student Involvement, & Intercultural Student Engagement
    Learn more about getting involved on the RISD campus and locally within Providence, as well as finding your community through shared identities, hobbies and passions. Each department will discuss the kinds of events, programs and areas through which you can connect and engage socially. Watch recording >

July 2023

  • July 1: Submit final high school transcripts R
  • July 3: Review your fall bill, which will be emailed to your student RISD email address. Students can add authorized users

    Get Ahead with Extrademics
    Every student manages their classes and studio space differently.
    The Extrademics team is here to support, expand, and enrich your time at RISD through advocacy, tutoring, research, grant writing, and career preparation. With 15 departments in total, this team can support your academics holistically. Watch recording >
  • Mid July: Submit all incoming student forms and to-do items R
  • July 14: Submit all health forms and vaccine information to your online Patient Portal. Students unable to get the COVID-19 booster in your country of origin should contact Health Services for assistance in getting this vaccine upon arrival to campus. R

    Get Informed with Equity & Compliance (for students only)

  • End of July: Gather original documents/materials needed for student employment (ex: driver’s license, government photo ID, US passport, social security card, birth certificate with seal)

August 2023

    Cultural Considerations
    Join us for the Cultural Considerations Webinar to learn about some topics that you may experience within and outside of the classroom as you navigate studying in the United States. Some of the topics include: American academic expectations, cultural adjustment and transition, communications (small talk, idioms, etc) and relationships, belonging and community building.     Federal Work Study 101
    Students who receive federal work study as part of their financial aid package can learn more about what exactly is work study, the benefits of work study, how work study can help pay off your tuition balance, where to find available jobs on campus, and more. More info >
