RISD First-Generation to College Pre-Orientation Program: RISD FGC POP

RISD FGC POP is an intensive, two-week experience for incoming RISD students whose parents did not attend or did not complete college (in other words, first-generation college students). Students in the program will spend time expanding their artistic and academic skills, exploring their social identities, and building community with students, faculty and staff. Not sure if you qualify as first-generation? Contact RISD's Intercultural Student Engagement Office at ise@risd.edu.

Project Thrive

All students who attend RISD FGC POP will also participate in Project Thrive, a multi-year student support and learning community program designed specifically for those who are the first in their families to attend college. The program provides students with community gatherings, a strong connection to the Office of Intercultural Student Engagement, mentorship and off-campus excursions. Please email ise@risd.edu with any questions.
